Present Water Series

Tjelda vander Meijden studied plein air painting and printmaking at the National Academy of Design and Fine Art in NYC. She works from life experiences and in her studio, develops from her oil sketches, prints and paintings. Traveling to the coldest places on earth, Iceland; Ushuaia Terra del Fuego, Argentina; Antarctic Peninsula; High Arctic Islands, Nunavut and Greenland in which to paint small "sketches" that capture the essence of light. On behalf of the Arts in Embassy Program her paintings were exhibited in the American Embassy, Reykjavik, Iceland where she returned to record the glaciers.
